The concept is fairly simple: Whatever you spend your time doing, make sure it’s something that if you apply yourself, you can increase your knowledge, expertise, network, income and/or earning potential. Life is too short to spin your wheels in the same place without progress; always keep moving forward.

After the Ticketmaster acquisition I first thought I would take some extended time off to really enjoy myself – and I did, to a healthy degree. However, it dawned on me that I’m not getting any younger, and it’s better to keep planting seeds now and continue to work my butt off while I’m in my 20s. I can always chill out later.
